By this last day, one of the joys of the conference was the happy, familiar
conversations that floated up from any group of students. The awkwardness of the
getting-to-know-you part was over and there was an easy camaradarie of newfound
friends who really enjoyed the company of other Christian thinking students.
Each of the five Probe instructors led an optional morning devotional and prayer time before
breakfast. We
were delighted that 20-30 students showed up each day, showing marvelous self-discipline
and responsibility. We appreciated how well and consistently the students showed maturity
in their choices and behavior. What a joy for us, and we know that they enjoyed being
treated with respect and dignity as young adults.
Rick Wade taught the first morning session, "Is Jesus the Only Savior?" (Short answer:
yes.) He then led the second session with the alumni on "Atheism," using as his text
an e-mail dialogue he had with an atheist.

Kris Samons taught the new students "World Religions."

Ozark staff members led us in 15-20 minutes of worship before each set of morning and evening sessions.
It was never enough; the students would have loved twice that much.

It didn't take long for the students to make the second and third evening film sessions (The Apostle
and Life is Beautiful) more comfortable by bringing pillows. Here you can see the pillows awaiting
their owners' return while most people were out in the lobby enjoying a snack.
